It has come to my attention in the last few collections
the focus on sunglasses in key fashion houses particularly
for the likes of prada and fendi. This season fendi again
goes for the bold oversized spectacle but with netural tones
and gradients with a frameless edge- almost a mutation or
the evil twin of last spring 2011's sunglasses.

Much like the bags in the ready to wear for this fall 2011
collection Karl and Silvia use similar techniques and
materials to appropriate their shoes - that is stingray contrast
with calf skin and detailing with etched patterns. The
mary-jane shoe dominates the collection unlike fall 2010
where it was all about the boot in ostrich and suede with
the rubber front. A sweet and feminine approach for this
fall.

Silvia and Karl's bags for the fall 2011 collection are much
like the spring 2011collection; simple, feminine, elegant and
classic in design- however this season we see the use of
stingray and etching to detail and enhance the neutral tones
in the collection.

What a successful collaboration it has been having karl lagerfield
work with silvia fendi for all these years- their collections seem to
excel every season. This season excites me with its rich colours
and restrained and carefully detailed coats, the lapelle is different
on every coat and never a traditional fold- this girl is in dire need
of an exquistely tailored fendi coat to keep her warm. Overall
I don't think I will ever be disappointed with a fendi collection!
